SSAS Pension Administrator

We are seeking a highly experienced SSAS Pension Administrator with at least 5 years of proven experience to manage and support key administrative tasks related to Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS). This is a fully remote contractor position, offering a retainer of £2,000 per month, with additional bonuses for exceptional performance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SSAS applications with HMRC, demonstrate an ability to address specific and niche client queries via video call, and possess a broader understanding of investments, including due diligence assessments. Occasionally, the role may involve participating in the filming of informational videos.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. SSAS Administration:
    • Process and manage SSAS applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all relevant regulations.
    • Oversee routine scheme maintenance, including member updates, benefit calculations, and annual returns.
  2. HMRC Compliance and Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit accurate applications and reports to HMRC.
    • Maintain extensive experience in navigating HMRC processes and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor changes in HMRC guidelines and ensure schemes adhere to updated policies.
  3. Client Interaction:
    • Address specific and niche client inquiries regarding scheme management, regulations, and investment options via video call.
    • Provide clear, professional guidance to clients on SSAS-related matters with excellent written and verbal English.
  4. Content Creation:
    • Write informative and engaging articles about SSAS topics for clients and broader audiences.
    • Occasionally assist in the creation of informational videos to educate clients on SSAS-related matters.
  5. Investment Administration and Due Diligence:
    • Review and assess investment propositions within SSAS schemes.
    • Conduct due diligence on proposed investments to ensure compliance and suitability.
    • Maintain a broad understanding of investment types to effectively communicate options to clients.
  6. Regulatory Awareness:
    • Keep up to date with regulatory changes affecting SSAS schemes.
    • Implement updates into operational processes and provide clients with timely insights into regulatory developments.

Requirements:

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in SSAS administration, including HMRC applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of HMRC regulations and processes relating to SSAS.
  • Proven ability to address specific and niche client queries confidently via video call.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in writing professional and client-focused SSAS articles.
  • Broader knowledge of investments, including the ability to review, assess, and perform due diligence on investment propositions.
  • Comfortable participating in video content creation.
  • Commitment to staying current with regulatory changes affecting SSAS schemes.
